The gold Bomber fly has a place is my fly box, it's a great dirty water fly for Barramundi, King Salmon, Jacks and many more species.
Hook: Mustad C68SSS Tarpon 3/0 - 4/0 Body: Yellow & black Slinky Fibre or similar. Flash: Gold & pearl Krystal flash,Gold flashabou. Eyes: Stick on 3-D Thread: Flat waxed nylon Glue: Super strength epoxy
We start the fly at the back of the hook shaft.
Cut off 4 inches of yellow slinky fibre. Tease out one end to soften the edges. Place on the hook slightly less then half way with the longer end extending over the hook eye. Once that is tied in fold over the long end so it now makes the rest of the fly tail.
Cut off a 4 inch length of gold krystal flash and again tease out on end, then tie the flash in at the centre now fold the rest of the flash over to the other side and tie in and add a drop of epoxy.
Repeat the process using gold flashabou.
Move up to the eye of the hook this time cut of 3 inches of yellow slinky fibre, tease the ends and tie in from side to side.
Repeat the process with gold flashabou. At this point you can tie in some pearl flashabou. This can give the fly a glowing effect.
Now cut 5 inches of black slinky fibre again tease the end then tie on the top of the fly, the first piece that's tied onto the fly should extend right to the end on the fly. Fold over the rest and tie it in, with another drop of epoxy then whip finish.
The fly should be nice and wide to push lots of water.
Stick on the eyes and clear epoxy over the head and your ready to go fishing.
